Fire enamels have a rich history, tracing back to ancient Egyptian and Greek jewelry, where this precious technique was used to harmonize colors with gold. Enameling bronze and brass became increasingly common during the Roman Empire and Byzantine eras, creating some of the most luxurious and sophisticated jewelry.
Techniques such as Champlevé and Cloisonné and miniature oil painting on metal involved mixing color pigments with vitreous powders fused with metal at high temperatures, around 750°C. Giulia Iosco masterfully employs this alchemic fusion to create breathtaking effects in her jewelry. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable—a painted and sculpted work of art you can wear.
